- Today marks the start of the Petsafe Bark for your Park online contest. Petsafe, a pet products company, awards up to $100,000 to dog park groups annually (5 parks per year) based on the number of votes cast over the internet. Our friends from the Kingdom Dog Park in Derby, VT won $25,000 last year through this contest, and we aim to repeat their victory in the 'Bark From Your Heart City' category, which is awarded to the city with the highest percentage of votes relative to that city’s population. ANYBODY can vote up to two times a day starting today and running through June 7th. You don't have to be a local resident to vote, so we are hoping you will share this far and wide, and remind everyone you know to go to these websites daily, starting today, to vote for Enfield's dog park: https://www.petsafe.net/barkforyourpark/ and https://www.facebook.com/PetSafeBrand/. You may vote two times each day - once through the Petsafe website and once through their facebook page. In Derby's case, banks and other business sent out emails to employees daily reminding them to vote. Let us know of your ideas on how to get the word out. If we win, we will be handed a check for $25,000 in August, which just might be what we need to break ground this fall!
